This one came straight off my hook with no pattern in sight — just me working row by row and letting the yarn decide what it wanted to be. It turned into a comfortable hooded sweater with a relaxed, throw-it-on-and-go sort of look. The colors are called Sandbar, and that name fits it. Soft grays, warm taupes, calm creams… all those quiet tones you see when the sun is low and the shoreline has settled for the evening. This is the sort of sweater you pull on when the morning’s a bit chilly, or when you want something handmade that doesn’t look like everyone else’s. It’s warm without being heavy, soft without being fuzzy, and it has that comfortable handmade character you can’t get from a store rack.
The yarn is Caron Cloud Cakes — 100% polyester, very soft, and easy to care for. The stitch work is open and breathable, so you can wear it roomy without feeling weighed down. I left the sleeves a touch shorter because they naturally wanted a gentle bell shape, and honestly, it makes the fit easier to move around in.
